How Nutrition Response Testing™ works — Longview, TX.
Turn on the vacuum and the lights dim. Your house only has so much power to go around, and the vacuum steals some of it. Your body does the same thing — and that is the whole idea behind this assessment.
Your Body’s Control System
Your brain is wired to every organ, gland and tissue through the autonomic nervous system — the automatic nervous system, because it runs the show without any effort from you. It handles digestion, hormones, circulation, blood pressure, waste removal, and your body’s own repair work.
It has two settings: the sympathetic go pedal and the parasympathetic whoa pedal. In a balanced body they trade off smoothly. When there is an imbalance, a blockage or an interference, that is when symptoms show up — the headaches, the reflux, the allergies, the chronic pain.
Those symptoms are check-engine lights. They tell you something needs attention. They don’t tell you what.
The Energy Steal
Every organ shares nerve pathways with the patch of skin over or near it. When Dr. Pearce applies light pressure to a specific reflex point, that sends a small signal down those shared pathways.
If the organ is already under stress and you add a small demand near it, your body can’t manufacture extra energy on the spot. It shifts some — steals it — from somewhere else. The easiest place to catch that shift is in a muscle.
Nothing is being forced.
Your body is answering the question.
The Lock and the Fade
You rest comfortably — lying, sitting or standing — while Dr. Pearce presses lightly on your extended arm and, at the same time, contacts a reflex point tied to a specific organ or gland.
A lock
The muscle holds strong. That area is doing its job.
A fade (the unlock)
The muscle briefly weakens and can’t hold. That area is under stress.
It isn’t a test of how strong you are. It’s a test of how your body responds — and it’s sensitive enough to flag stress that other testing can miss. That’s why it works so well alongside your history and your labs rather than instead of them.
Where It Came From
Muscle response testing was first developed in the 1960s and has been used by a wide range of health professionals ever since. Nutrition Response Testing™ itself was developed by Freddie Ulan, D.C., N.D., C.C.N., and Lester Bryman, D.C., out of decades of clinical results helping people restore their health naturally.
It pulls together several fields: the acupuncture and meridian system of Oriental medicine, the applied and clinical kinesiology of Drs. George Goodheart and Alan Beardall, and refinements from Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt and Dr. Yoshiaki Omura.
Dr. Pearce began her own training in 2014 and graduated in 2017, certified at the highest level.
From Findings to a Plan
We listen, we talk
Your history, your symptoms, and everything you’ve already tried.
We assess, we explain
The assessment shows which organ or system is the current priority, and Dr. Pearce walks you through what came up.
We plan, we teach
Whole food, herbal and homeopathic supplements matched to the findings, plus the changes worth making at the table.
We follow up, we adjust
Every visit, we check you — where you are at that exact moment — and make any adjustments the findings call for.
Specific, targeted supplements — aimed at the right priority and the right interference, doing what they’re supposed to do.
Painless. Powerful. Personalized.
That’s the short version, and it’s the reason this works when other things have stalled.
The main Nutrition Response Testing page covers what the assessment looks for. From there it pairs with Designed Clinical Nutrition for the supplement side, a bloodwork evaluation when labs would add another angle, and chiropractic when the structure needs attention too.
